Description Woman's dress with black silk chiffon bodice and black velvet skirt; decorated with clear bugle beads, seed beads, and small flat diamond-shaped beads; tan crepe lining. Dress has V-neck front and back; sleeveless, dropped waist. Bodice is beaded; organic lines (1-6 beads wide) move horizontally across bodice, alternating with flat diamond pieces. Neckline is higher in front, and bodice has a shorter hem in front. Neckline and waist also incorporate seed beads in a floral type design. Beading is heavier at waist. Skirt is slightly fuller; probably mid-calf length. Front has asymetrical detail in beading; skirt comes to a point on left hip. No labels.
Provenance Belonged to the donor's mother, Ruth E. Brinker, a native and resident of Keokuk, Iowa, born 1888.
