Date circa 1905
Description [Man's?] long coat; burgundy velvet [silk?], lined with black velvet. Mostly hand made. Gold brocade and black velvet trim at neck, center front, hem and sleeves. At front neckline, a silver coin is connected by orange, red and green cord with matching tassels; tassels have white beads on ends. Purple and green cord attached at center back.
The coin appears to be from Iran, circa 1960.
Provenance Central Asia, possibly Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan.
Purchased in northern Lebanon at least five years ago [i.e., before 2007] and said to be "100 years old" at that time.
